The book is great, it won a Pulitizer. But the audio book is incredible. Frank McCourt inhabits the characters of everyone who speaks, including himself at 3, 5, 9, and on. He sings every song, reads poetry, plays priests, librarians, his brothers, his teachers . . . even Americans and Englishmen. I’ve heard it twice, and I can’t wait to hear it again.
