4. 0 out of 5 stars Book of fun This was a fun, easy to read book. Some of the things that really seemed to be common knowledge. But others surprised me as:
-Christopher Columbus was not necessary. . .
5. 0 out of 5 stars The greatest stories ever told Pleasant to read and learned many unknown facts of history. Very nice
Beyer is a writer who is dedicated to making the story interesting and fun, do so well in this collection of stories on a page. I found this book particularly interesting because at the bottom of the work the writer had set for the survey (the footprint of the History Channel is not harmful so long), these little things that stand above the normal platitudes, or potential of urban legends. Beyer highlights some things that should not be lost in the mists of history, pointing out historical facts that can be overlooked in many history books of others. Nothing ground breaking here, but more than a few will make you scratch your head, or share them with others in conversation. A great book to put your foot in the story - every story is a page of text and well illustrated. There is just enough to make the interesting point is not boring. A really fun and exciting book.
5. 0 out of 5 stars 100 stories ever told! great book for someone with a short attention span! each story is only 2 pages with photos!
This is not a coffee table book is a book bag, a book with a bathroom, a bedside book, a book stuck in traffic. It is a book for parents and children, a book for teachers and students, a book for priests and ministers (great sermon material!), And a great gift for almost everyone. My personal favorite involves Bat Masterson and Wyatt Earp made during the 1920s - will not give away the story, but Wyatt was in Hollywood and was in Manhattan Bat! It is clear that the author is a student of history, is a lover of history and enthusiasm and is approaching its subject, comes through every page.
